Classrooms of the future.

In recent times, there has been much rhetoric regarding schooling in the futute and in my mind, the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) initiative is a fundamental step towards 21st century schooling. In the current climate, most schools do not truely reflect how students 'choose' to learn in their own time. Access anytime anywhere learning is the future, where students will take responsibility for their personal learning agenda with a much more varied learning pattern than the current 'spoonfeeding' approach offered by traditional schooling.

Schools need to change focus and re-evaluate what the goal of schooling actually is. Traditionally, it has been to prepare people for their working role outside of school. However, the rapid development of technological advance means that some of the jobs that these students may one day adopt, do not yet exist. (For more information on this, feel free to link to this article http://davecormier.com/edblog/?p=20)

Therefore, creating a classroom that can inspire and innovate must have untold potential. By allowing students to work in a technologically advanced environment that is rapidly becoming a students natural 'playground', I think we will see a more inspired workforce of the future who know no bounds as to what can be acheived.
